Mission
The mission of the Music Ministry is, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, desires to seek, save the unsaved (Luke 19:10) and make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20), by demonstrating love, patience, kindness, compassion, helpfulness and tact while working together for the rendering of music that is spiritual in nature and gives praise and worship to our Savior. The Music Ministry is a part of the mission of the Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church as we strive to become a spiritually healthy, generous, fruit bearing congregation.
The mission of the Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church Congregation is the Mission of Christ. We strive to be available to the Holy Spirit to allow Him to produce through us a Caring, Sharing, Fruit bearing Congregation, anchored in the Crib, Cross, and Empty Tomb, living in the victory of Jesus the Christ.
We are Bible based, Christ Centered, Holy Spirit Led and Mission Bound. We Welcome Everyone!
Purpose
The purpose of the Music Ministry is to plan and organize music for the purpose of leading the congregation in singing, praising and worshipping God. To provide a systematic training program in music for all members from ages 5 and above. To lead in the teaching and singing of new songs that include: hymns, gospels, spirituals, anthems, and contemporary songs.
The Ministry in Action
Whether it is a soul-stirring hymn on Sunday morning, a children’s choir lifting praise during a special service, or an ensemble guiding the congregation in heartfelt worship, the Music Ministry is deeply woven into the life of Fourth Street. It is not merely performance—it is a living act of ministry. Our choirs and musicians serve as vessels of worship, creating an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit can move freely.
Members of all ages are invited to participate, grow, and share their gifts. With structured training, mentorship, and opportunities for engagement, our Music Ministry equips individuals to not only perform but to minister through music.
